Enzyme Kinetics of Catalase:
The kinetics of catalase induced hydrogen peroxide decomposition is investigated calorimetrically using a 'Coffee Cup' calorimeter. In the screen capture above, the temperature difference and the maximum rate of heat transfer decreases with initial hydrogen peroxide concentration. A Michaelis Menten plot of substrate concentration against maximum reaction rate is used to determine enzyme kinetics parameters for catalase.
