INPHAZE Particle Suspension Sample Chamber |
Good results from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy experiments depend not only on the spectrometer unit but also require a well prepared sample. INPHAZE Sample Chambers are designed for specific application areas and are constructed to be both easy to assemble and capable of yielding good results across the frequency spectrum.
The Particle Suspension Sample Chamber (SCPS) provides connection for four (two current passing, and two potential measuring) electrodes for impedance measurements. The suspension is held in a cylindrical transparent polycarbonate sample chamber through which an axial current passes via electrodes at either end. The potential diference is measured across two gold radial electrodes, located about mid way along the chamber — which was identified as the optimal placement.
Two sealed sample chanbers are held in a docking station by a spring–loaded mechanism which also provides electrical contacts for the chamber electrodes. The dock fits inside the INPHAZE Faraday cage.
The polycabonate chambers are ideal for many types of suspension or packed samples eg. soils, ore concentrates, colloids, emulsions, proteins, and other suspended particles, as well as gels.
