Amino Acid Titrations
The acid-base properties of amino acids can be easily investigated using an e-corder, pH electrode, pH meter and the Drop Counter. The pK' values of the ionizing groups of an amino acid can be determined on a titration curve of pH against the volume of base added. The shape of the titration curve and the pK' values for different amino acids can then be related to the structure of the amino acids.
